We are thrilled to announce the world’s largest Passivhaus training centre is coming to Cambridgeshire. To be located at our HQ, where we will welcome and train the Passivhaus builders of tomorrow.
The Passivhaus training centre will be a massive facility, taking up an acre of space, made by builders for builders to bring everyone up to speed on Passivhaus standards and installations. No matter whether they’re a labourer or the CEO, this training centre welcomes everyone. We fix problems, and we get our hands dirty. Our training will be the same.
Passivhaus is for everyone
One of the most common misconceptions about Passivhaus is that it’s somehow exclusively a high-end standard, not for the average builder. Perhaps the fact that Passivhaus is adopted by a lot of high-end architecture firms could present it in a way that seems elite, but the reality is absolutely not so.
Passivhaus is simply about adopting solutions that help builders do better work, fix problems, and save their clients tonnes of money on electricity bills—all the while reducing their environmental impact. Builders don’t need to know the high-end stuff to get all the value from Passivhaus standards. You just need to know how to install, and our builders will show you and your builders how that’s done.
Passivhaus training in action
Working hands-on with a Passivhaus approach allows builders to quickly see the pros and cons of different ways of working. For that reason, our courses will not run behind a desk. They will be run by builders, for builders, pointing out problems and getting hands-on to implement Passivhaus solutions that simplify the learning process and demonstrate why Passivhaus provides a better outcome.
Unlike other training courses, we build strong relationships with the builders that come through our courses. We know that learning is a never-ending process, and as new people come on board, skill levels in a team need to be brought up to speed. We don’t offer a once and done kind of solution for learning skills in Passivhaus. We offer a long-term partnership.
The initial training programs will be a solid week getting your hands dirty, working with Passivhaus standards, then we schedule ongoing training that keeps you and your team up to date and ensures you’re maintaining strong Passivhaus practices as your team grows and changes.
Why Passivhaus
Passivhaus is the international standard for constructing buildings that are ultra-low in energy consumption. As an industry, we have to move in this direction. Whether we like it or not, the UK is committed to achieving net-zero carbon production by 2050. We all have to do our part to get there. Either we do it optionally now, or we’re forced later.
Having worked with Passivhaus for years now, we are massive advocates for the quality and results this standard produces. We want to share that with other builders. We welcome competitors.
