Passive Purple is the world’s most airtight liquid-applied vapour control membrane. BBA, Passivhaus and EPD certified.
This Handy pack of Passive Purple brush is just the ticket for sealing up them little areas like cracks in walls, joist ends or service penetrations. It is a VOC-free water-based product. It’s completely free of any nasty chemicals or fumes. Its fibre reinforced to span the larger gaps.
With its fibre reinforced polymer technology, Passive Purple Brush can bridge gaps of up to 5mm. Ideally, you want the structure to have as little gaps in as possible to save time and cost on materials. once all connections, joints, boards and penetrations are complete and located, simply use a firm paint brush to fill and seal over the gaps and joints. this alone will reduce air leakage an enormous amount leaving your final spray coat ”if required” the icing on the cake. With a filler style technique and putty like consistency, Passive Purple Brush is extremely easy and fast to apply with no surface or area a problem.

Passive Purple brush liquid airtight vapour control membrane is an airtight coating that is applied with a 3 inch application brush on all areas of an external envelope (warm side of the insulation) of a building. This includes those difficult connection areas to the floor, wall, roof and joist.
When Passive Purple is used on the warm side of the insulation, it can be applied to either face of the external envelope.
To install Passive Purple, you simply need to ensure the material or surface is dust-free, solid and closed before starting the application.
A closed surface implies that holes and joints need to be closed beforehand: large holes and joints (> 5mm) can be closed with a fast setting cement-based products or polyurethane foam, small holes and joints (2-5mm) can be closed with Passive Purple Liquid Brush, this is a much thicker (paintbrush applied version of Passive Purple).
For small projects, such as private houses, Passive Purple Brush can be used with a flat paintbrush.
The wall and ceiling connections also need to be made airtight, especially when the connections are made of two different types of construction materials such as red brick and concrete or steel and concrete.
Different construction materials react differently to changes in humidity, temperature and move at different rates, which can lead to small cracks in plaster or another type of finishing. This can create air leaks that will cause the energy performance of your building to suffer and potentially opening the gateway for damp and mould to appear.

To install Passive Purple, you simply need to ensure the material or surface is dust-free, solid and closed before starting the application.
Passive Purple Brush is a much thicker fibre-reinforced paintbrush applied version of Passive Purple. commonly used for heavy-duty areas such as the preparation of connections, service penetrations, joist zones and for larger gap bridging – thereby replacing the need for tapes and silicones.
For small areas and repairs or remedial works, Passive Purple Brush can be used with a flat paintbrush. In this case, an airless spray device is not needed. The wall/ceiling/slab connections also need to be made airtight, certainly when the connections are made of two different types of construction materials such as red brick/concrete, steel/concrete, or timber and block work. Different construction materials react differently to changes in humidity or temperature and move at different rates which can lead to small cracks in plaster or any other type of finishing, and so creating air leaks that will cause the energy performance of your building to suffer and potentially open the gateway for damp and mould to appear. For these wall/ceiling/slab connections, Three products can be used: Passive Purple which is sprayed with an airless paint spray device, Passive Purple brush which is applied by brush, or if you have really large movement and gaps, then our airtight fleece tapes can work.
