4 Bed Detached House in Everton case study
Overview
Overall, Passive Purple External, alongside our other products like Passive Purple Internal, Brush and Airtight Fleece membrane, plays a crucial role in moisture management and energy efficiency of timber frame constructions.
Client Testimonial
“I couldn’t be happier with how my eco self-build has turned out. I’m particularly impressed with how quick the installation of Passive Purple was!”
Project Details
White Haus supplied and fitted insulated timber frame and alu-clad Passivhaus standard windows and doors for a self build project in Everton. The clients wanted a really well performing, thermally broken, ECO house instead of going the full Passivhaus route. This was achieved by installing 140mm of closed cell PU insulation in between the studs with a 50mm overlay of PIR insulation on the outside of the building. The insulation was installed to cover any thermal breaks caused by steel work. We sprayed Passive Purple on the inside of the building as a vapour control/air tight membrane, this allows the building to achieve a Passivhaus standard air test. We sprayed Passive Purple External building membrane on the outside of the building as a breather membrane, this also protects the building from the elements.
The property was fitted with an acoustic screed board flooring, this provides excellent noise reduction from ground to first floor and also acts as thermal mass to allow heat retention.
