A priming coat will help prevent paint from absorbing into the render underneath, leaving a smoother finish. When using our render primers alongside our liquid membranes and airtight paint products you can also improve the effectiveness of the products, ensuring the best results.
There are different types of primer you can use depending on whether you want to prime an internal or external surface. For internal uses we recommend our Lime Prime Interior Primer. If you need to prime external walls then our Render Prime Exterior Primer will be more suitable.
Rendering over old paint is not recommended as it is not a good building practice. Applying products directly over old paint can lead to an uneven finish and cracking. You will need to remove the old paint then prepare the surface before finally applying the new render.
